Dave’s cancer journey began in October 2024, when he noticed an unusual lump in his groin. After a series of tests, a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma. While the news was shocking, Dave is committed to staying strong for his loved ones, particularly his wife, Melissa, and his son, Luc, who is also a pilot.

Drawing inspiration from family members who have faced cancer with bravery, Dave maintains his humor and optimism. He jokes, “I’ve gone from a Virgo to a Cancer” and finds joy in hockey, even quipping, “When they said, ‘You’ve got NHL,’ I thought, ‘I finally made it to the NHL.’”
