Tony & Ziva’ After One Season, Stars Share Emotional Joint Statement

It’s the end of the road for NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Paramount+ has officially canceled the highly anticipated spinoff after just one season, bringing a short but emotional chapter of the NCIS franchise to a close.

The series reunited fan favorites Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, who stepped back into their iconic roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. For longtime viewers, the show delivered what many had been hoping for: a true continuation of Tony and Ziva’s story-and long-awaited closure.

Following the cancellation, Weatherly and de Pablo shared a heartfelt joint statement, released via Deadline:

“We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva’s story. Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after.”

While the news may be disappointing for fans who hoped for more seasons, the complete first season- which debuted in September-remains available to stream on Paramount+.

Meanwhile, the NCIS universe is still very much alive. Viewers can catch the current lineup of NCIS shows airing on CBS and keep up with which series are continuing-and which have been canceled.

For Tony and Ziva fans, the journey may have been brief, but it ended with the happy ending many waited years to see. 💔✨
