Inside Linda Hunt’s Renovated 1919 Home, where she shares with her Beloved Woman of 43 Years

Linda Hunt is a theater and movie actress from the United States. She was born on April 2, 1945, in Morristown, New Jersey, to Raymond Davy Hunt and Elsie Doying Hunt.

Raymond worked as the vice president of Harper Fuel Oil, and Elsie taught piano. In Westport, Connecticut, she taught at the Westport School of Music and sang with the Saugatuck Congregational Church Choir.

Linda grew up in Westport. Marcia, her older sister, was born five years before she was. She attended the Interlochen Arts Academy and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago’s Goodman School of Drama, now known as DePaul University.

Linda’s acting credits include roles in theater, cinema, television, and voice work. She was a well-known theater actress before breaking into film and television.

She made her Broadway debut in a staging of “Ah, Wilderness” in 1975. She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in the 1984 play “End of the World.”

Off-Broadway credits include “Top Girls and a Metamorphosis in Miniature,” “Aunt Dan and Lemon,” “Doubt,” “Mother Courage and Her Children,” and “Top Gun.”

Linda made her film debut in 1980 with the musical comedy “Popeye.” She starred as Billy Kwan in “The Year of Living Dangerously” in 1982.

She starred in the film as a male character and received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1983. As a result, she became the first person to get an Oscar for portraying a role of the opposite gender.

Linda also appeared in the 1984 picture “Dune,” 1989’s “She-Devil,” and 1990’s “Kindergarten Cop,” in which she co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

She has appeared in several television shows, including “The Practice,” “Without a Trace,” and “NCIS: Los Angeles,” where she plays Operations Manager Henrietta Lange.

Linda has a husky voice and has narrated a number of documentaries, commercials, and animated shorts. Her most notable voice-over roles are Grandmother Willow in “Pocahontas” and narrating the “God of War” video game series.

Linda is well-known for her petite stature. She was diagnosed with hypopituitary dwarfism as a teen and stands four feet and nine inches tall.
