NCIS Stars and Their Famous Exes: Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Lauren Holly

Propelled into the spotlight, the NCIS cast members have mingled with Hollywood heavyweights-and even dated some of them. From Mark Harmon to Lauren Holly, several stars have had famous romantic histories that may surprise you.

Mark Harmon

Before marrying Mork & Mindy star Pam Dawber in 1987, Mark Harmon dated his Flamingo Road co-star Christina Raines. They split in 1984 but continued to speak warmly of each other. In a 1986 People interview, Mark said, “Tina taught me how to stop and notice the oak trees and smell the flowers… She will always be a very special lady.”
Christina, speaking in 2014, described Mark as “very generous,” “detail-oriented,” and “wonderful to work with.”

Michael Weatherly

Michael Weatherly was engaged to Jessica Alba from 2001–2003 after meeting on Dark Angel. Their 12-year age gap sparked media buzz, and after their split Jessica told Cosmopolitan: “It’s really, really difficult to have the same occupation… I’ve decided I’ll never date an actor again.”
Jessica later married Cash Warren, while Michael wed Bojana Janković in 2009.

Jennifer Esposito

Jennifer Esposito was briefly married to Bradley Cooper. They were first photographed together in 2006, became engaged that October, and married that December in the South of France. Four months later, they divorced. Bradley later said, “Sometimes you just realize it.”

David McCallum

David McCallum married actress Jill Ireland after meeting on Hell Drivers (1957). They had three sons, but after 10 years, Jill left David for his friend and Great Escape co-star, Charles Bronson.
David reflected in 2017: “I never hated him… You can solve problems amicably.”
The split led David to his second wife, Katherine Carpenter, with whom he shared two children and 56 years of marriage.

Lauren Holly

Lauren Holly married her Dumb and Dumber co-star Jim Carrey in 1996. Jim once said he was “head over heels” and called her “brilliant” and “selfless.”
They divorced nine months later but stayed friendly. “I only have the best memories… We just laughed and laughed,” Lauren told Closer in 2019.

NCIS is about family relationships, whether it’s the team’s camaraderie or the romances that develop among colleagues. Characters from several NCIS spin-offs frequently cross paths, resulting in a tight-knit community. While some shows have ended, characters such as Sam Hanna have returned, as shown in “NCIS: Hawai’i.” Other recognized figures, like as Dwayne “King” Cassius Pride from “NCIS: New Orleans,” could appear on other shows. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf expressed openness to such crossovers if they serve the story organically. They emphasize the importance of narrative integrity over gimmicks. Scott Bakula, who portrayed Pride, hasn’t indicated whether he’d be up for a return, but the executives remain receptive to spin-offs featuring other characters.
