Family is More Important to Mark Harmon Than Fame! Meet the NCIS Star’s Two Children, Sean and Ty

Despite his long-running role on NCIS, the beloved actor will always prioritize his family, including his wife, Pam Dawber, and his two children, Sean Harmon and Ty Harmon, over his Hollywood career.

Mark and Pam have been married since the 1980s. The Summer School alum was in the heyday of his career at the time, having starred on St. Elsewhere and Moonlighting, while Pam was a successful actor on Mork & Mindy. According to People, the two began dating after being introduced by a mutual acquaintance.

Despite the fact that both Mark and Pam were enormous stars in the entertainment business, they worked hard to keep their romance out of the spotlight.

“We’re not trying to keep something secret, but if you don’t want it totally exploited by the press, you have to,” the My Sister Sam actress told the publication just before they married.

The Hollywood hottie and his starring lady wedded in a private wedding ceremony on March 21, 1987. When their first son, Sean, was born the following year, they began their family. In 1992, they welcomed their second child, Ty.

Mark juggled his Hollywood career throughout his children’s childhoods, starring in blockbuster shows and films such as Dillinger, Reasonable Doubts, Harts of the West, and Wyatt Earp. Pam, on the other hand, gave up her career to raise the children.

“I had children, and it was like, ‘I’m not going to chase this fame thing,’” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2016. “I desired to drive my children to school.” I wanted to attend their birthday parties and bring cupcakes and donuts. And I was delighted to do it.”

While Mark remained a fixture in the media, he never let his celebrity interfere with his life as a father. Because the Freaky Friday actor is unfazed by showbiz’s glitz and glamour, he has no qualms about maintaining a modest profile.

“It’s not even a choice,” Mark explained to TV Insider in November 2017. “It’s part of who we are.” We remain at home. A lot. I’m not a fan of Twitter or Facebook. Our sons aren’t interested either. Pam and I have both made a life in this industry, and there’s still a part of it that’s simply not natural.”

Sean Harmon

On April 25, 1988, Mark’s first child was born. The Chicago Hope actor and his wife Pam kept their son out of the spotlight when he was younger. Despite his parents’ celebrity, Mark and Pam’s eldest child has followed in their footsteps.

Sean has appeared in CSI: New York, NCIS: Los Angeles, Major Cr1mes, Hold On, and NCIS opposite Mark. According to IMDb, Sean will appear in the upcoming 2021 TV film Thicker. He also directed one film, Catholic Schoolgirl Chainsaw Showdown.

Sean, in addition to acting and directing, is a stuntman who has worked on numerous films such as Alone, The Dead Man, The Sweet Taste of Redemption, Dumb and Dumber To, and American Reunion.

On June 25, 1992, the couple’s second son was born. Ty, like his older brother, has pursued a career in Hollywood. The gorgeous young man, on the other hand, is a screenwriter. He co-wrote the 2012 picture Catholic Schoolgirl Chainsaw Showdown with his filmmaker brother, according to IMDb.

Ty has done a wonderful job of staying out of the public eye in addition to paving a career in the spotlight. During an interview with ET in 2016, the Stay Tuned actress discussed their resolve to keep their family life private.

“Notice you don’t see us in the magazines,” she went on to say. “That’s real life when you’re married. And to go plaster your kids… I apologize. That does not sit well with me.”
