‘NCIS’ Getting New Seasons on Netflix in October 2025

NCIS has had a turbulent couple of years on Netflix, but the show remains on the platform, and we’ve just received word that two new seasons are joining imminently.

Note: This article specifically covers Netflix in the United States. The show isn’t streaming elsewhere.

As we’ve been covering over the past few years, NCIS has undergone a whirlwind of changes on the streamer. For a time, it seemed the series might depart in full in 2024, and for a period, it appeared that the entire collection of titles would be leaving.

As mid-2024 rolled around, Netflix did lose much of its catalog of seasons, with the caveat that it added seasons 16 and 17 (the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons), but with the caveat that seasons 1 through 11 were removed. The next update arrived in December of last year, reintroducing the first five seasons.

Now in its 22nd year on the air, the popular procedural has been a cornerstone of CBS’s primetime lineup and continues to perform well in the streaming era, thanks to its binge-worthy nature.

Seasons 18-19 of NCIS are coming to Netflix

Beginning October 1st, two new seasons will be joining Netflix, specifically seasons 18 and 19. Season 18 notably saw the departure of two main stars, including Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham, while season 19 debuted Gary Cole, and Mark Harmon departed after an incredible run.

Season 18 was a shortened season due to the pandemic, given that it aired in the latter months of 2020 and into 2021. Season 19 consisted of 21 episodes, airing between September 2021 and May 2023.

To recap, from October 1st, Netflix will stream seasons 1 through 5 and 12 through 19. We don’t know when the next refresh will be, nor do we know if any other seasons will be leaving anytime soon. We’ll keep you posted.

If you want to watch the missing early seasons or seasons 20 through 22, Paramount+ remains the primary home of NCIS in addition to all of the spin-offs. Season 23 of the show is set to return in October 2025.

NCIS is about family relationships, whether it’s the team’s camaraderie or the romances that develop among colleagues. Characters from several NCIS spin-offs frequently cross paths, resulting in a tight-knit community. While some shows have ended, characters such as Sam Hanna have returned, as shown in “NCIS: Hawai’i.” Other recognized figures, like as Dwayne “King” Cassius Pride from “NCIS: New Orleans,” could appear on other shows. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf expressed openness to such crossovers if they serve the story organically. They emphasize the importance of narrative integrity over gimmicks.
