CBS confirmed NCIS season 23 earlier this year, with the next installment set to premiere in fall 2025. However, there’s a major change on the horizon for the long-running drama.
Since 2021, NCIS has aired on Monday nights, but for season 23, it’s moving back to its original Tuesday night slot. Adding to the excitement, CBS plans to dedicate all of Tuesday night to the NCIS franchise. Both NCIS season 23 and NCIS: Origins season 2 will shift to Tuesday, while NCIS: Sydney will move from Friday nights.
While the exact premiere dates haven’t been announced, past release patterns suggest a September or October debut.
The NCIS season 22 finale delivered major revelations: the Nexus organization’s leader, “The Butcher,” was revealed to be an AI. Carla Marino (Rebecca De Mornay), a Kansas City mob boss, was exposed as Alden Parker’s (Gary Cole) father’s k1ller. Meanwhile, Gabriel LaRoche (Seamus Dever) was unmasked as a double agent, forcing his resignation from NCIS.
