Every time I asked Luke to take a picture of me or with me, he made excuses. “Not now,” or “Can we do it later?” he’d say. I tried to brush it off, but as the trip went on, it began to hurt.

One afternoon, I found his phone unattended. What I saw shattered me. A group chat with his friends revealed his cruel comments about my appearance, making fun of my weight and our vacation photos.

Feeling betrayed, I posted some of our vacation pictures online with the caption, “Searching for a new travel companion.” My friends responded with support, and the message was clear.

Later, Luke apologized, but his words didn’t ring true. He even suggested I use my inheritance to lose weight for him. That was the final straw.

I realized my self-worth wasn’t tied to his approval. I calmly told Luke I was divorcing him. His shock and tears only confirmed that his priorities had always been skewed.

After the divorce, I focused on my health for myself, not him. I regained my confidence and strength, surrounded by the support of friends and family.
