CBS Officially Renews ‘NCIS’ for Thrilling Season 23

CBS announced a slew of renewals for many of their network television programming for the 2025-2026 season. What does this mean for NCIS and will we see more adventures with the team of agents we love to watch weekly?

There are still plenty of shows that have not been renewed yet, but luckily fans of NCIS can breathe a sigh of relief that we will get more of the team for another season.

As per Deadline, NCIS was renewed for season 23, meaning that we will continue to see Agents Alden Parker, Timothy McGee, Nick Torres, and Jessica Knight catch criminals while dealing with their personal lives. The long-time series has continued to bring in plenty of views, including streaming, which brought the network 10.4 million views…

NCIS has been renewed for a single season

CBS President Amy Reisenbach said of the decision to renew the shows they announced, “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites.” Season 22 of NCIS has been off to a great start, giving us a possible nemesis and also making sure to give plenty of screen time to other characters, including an episode that recently focused on Kasie Hines.

McGee has been looking into whether the Deputy Director, Gabriel LaRoche, was not what he seemed and it is a storyline that has taken a backseat. However, we’re sure to see more of what is happening as new episodes continue to air.

Plus, romance has been stirring between Torres and Knight’s sister, while fans are still waiting to see if she will reunite with Jimmy Palmer. Now with the announcement of a new season incoming, we’re sure to continue seeing these storylines coming to fruition.

NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney have also been renewed

Another storyline we’re still waiting to learn more about involves Parker and the mysterious Lily. That has been another arc we’ve been waiting to learn more about, especially since it could be connected to his mother, who left when Parker was young. We’re excited to see what NCIS has in store for the characters for the rest of season 22 and beyond.

In addition to NCIS, its sequels both also have been renewed. NCIS: Origins will return for season 2 after having averaged 9.2 million viewers via streaming alone while NCIS: Sydney has brought in 7 million viewers and will have a third season for fans to enjoy.

NCIS airs Mondays on CBS at 9/8c. Previous episodes can be found on Paramount+ for your viewing pleasure. Make sure to continue checking out One Chicago Center as we get more renewal news about all of your favorite shows!
