NCIS legend Michael Weatherly has dished out a juicy bit on the goings-on of NCIS: Tony and Ziva.
With Michael Weatherly at the helm as Tony DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo weaving the charm as Ziva David, their tantalising flirtationship was key in catapulting NCIS to global telly fame during its infancy on CBS.
Yet, the fandom’s thirst for more Tony and Ziva antics was never quite quenched, especially after the bombshell that they’d shared a night together before Ziva jetted off to Israel, leaving behind a daughter, Tali, in her wake.
The plot thickened with Ziva’s dramatic return from the dead in season 17, leading her to a rendezvous in Paris with Tony and their child, hinting at a fresh start.
It prime-set the stage for Paramount+’s NCIS Tony and Ziva, a spin-off that’s had fans desperate for an onscreen reunion for years.
Viewers have been drip fed details about what’s to come and now, in comes Weatherly with the latest.
The 56-year-old took to X, formerly Twitter, sharing a cheeky selfie while having a bath but it was his update that really sparked fanfare.
His post read: “Ahhh… finally wrapping Season 1 of NCIS: Tony and Ziva… and feeling how much I love bathtubs.”
Fans quickly took to the comments section to reaction with one person writing: “Finally! The very special agent Tony and Ziva are back!
“Meanwhile, another chimed in: “Congrats on wrapping the best TV show of 2025…Can’t wait to see what you guys made!”
Someone else wrote: “This going be Awesome! Can’t wait! Tony and Ziva are incredible together,” and another posted: “I’m so excited to see what happens next with them.
“There are so many questions … Thank you so much for bringing them back.”
Although no official release date has been set, the 10-episode drama is expected to make its debut later in the year.
It’s been reported that the show will kick off with Tony and Ziva raising their daughter Tali in Paris, only to find themselves fleeing across Europe after his security company comes under attack.
The former agents seem to be going through tough times, with suggestions that they’ll need to rebuild trust to achieve their “learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after” but why did Tony and Ziva drift apart in the first place?
Joining the main characters are Julian Ovenden from ‘Downton Abbey’ playing Interpol’s secretary general, Jonah, Amita Suman from ‘Shadow and Bone’ as the chief technical officer, Claudette, Isla Gie from ‘Foundation’ portraying Tali, and Lara Rossi from ‘The Watch’ as Tali’s caretaker.
