Why Isn’t ‘NCIS: Origins’ On Tonight?

NCIS: Origins, which normally airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, will be preempted tonight by a rebroadcast of the “Redcoat” episode of Watson. It gives CBS an opportunity to rest Origins, so when it returns with new episodes later this spring, it can go straight through to the finale.

But it also gives the network the chance to test the new medical-mystery drama in a timeslot other than its regularly scheduled Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Watson stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders six months following the death of Sherlock Holmes at the hand of Moriarty.

“Redcoat,” the second episode of Watson, follows Watson and his fellows as they investigate the perplexing case of a family man with a bullet lodged in his head who insists he is a Scottish soldier and seems to be hiding something nefarious. Also in the episode, Watson looks for clues as to whom his estranged wife Mary (Rochelle Aytes) is dating, and Ingrid (Eve Harlow) tries to work out what her “tell” is when Watson calls her out for lying,

When will NCIS: Origins be back on TV?

NCIS: Origins–which has already been picked up for its second season–will return with repeats starting March 3. For viewers who may have missed an episode or for those who have never seen the show, this is an opportunity to catch up. In addition, all 13 episodes are streaming on Paramount+.

The newest series in the NCIS franchise follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in 1991, as he starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid).

The March 3 rebroadcast is the “Flight of Icarus” episode in which the team investigates the death of a famed Marine commander’s son, while a pivotal part of Mike Franks’ past involving his family is revealed.

Then, on March 10, there will be a second airing of “Touchstones,” in which when the evidence room is broken into and significant cash goes missing, the team looks into a connection to a recent case. Also, Lala (Mariel Molino) opens up to Gibbs, and Kowalski (Michael Harney) struggles to move forward.
NCIS Origins also stars Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Caleb Foote…
