It\u2019s been four years since\u00a0we last saw Mark\u00a0portray Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the CBS drama, with fans continuing to hope for his return every single week. And while he is an executive producer and narrator on the spinoff series\u00a0NCIS: Origins<\/em>\u00a0(Austin Stowell<\/strong> plays a younger Gibbs on that show), it\u2019s just not the same as seeing Mark on TV in real-time! But trust the hit TV franchise to hear fans\u2019 cries for more Mark, because they seriously delivered with an announcement that\u2019ll leave everyone absolutely shook.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a report from\u00a0Deadline<\/em>\u00a0October 28, fans learned\u00a0Mark Harmon will return to\u00a0NCIS<\/em>\u00a0in 2025.<\/strong>\u00a0In fact, he\u2019s set to make a special guest appearance during the\u00a0upcoming\u00a0NCIS<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0NCIS: Origins<\/em>\u00a0crossover event\u00a0on November 11, 2025 on CBS<\/strong>, which will see the two shows coming together for a storyline fans will see over the course of a two-hour period.<\/p>\n

\u201cFour years ago, Gibbs disappeared to Alaska to live a life of solitude,\u201d said co-showrunners and executive producers\u00a0David J. North<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Gina Lucita Monreal<\/strong> in an official statement. \u201cWe know how much fans have missed seeing Mark and have wondered what Gibbs is up to today. Well, on Nov. 11, we\u2019re so excited to announce that Mark Harmon will return as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the Origins hour of the NCIS crossover event. We don\u2019t want to give too much away, but let\u2019s just say Gibbs is no longer alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

When fans learned Mark would be making a grand return to the\u00a0NCIS\u00a0<\/em>franchise, they immediately couldn\u2019t hold back their elation for the prospect.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is\u00a0\"\ud83d\udd25\"\"\ud83d\udd25\"\"\ud83d\udd25\"\u00a0absolutely can\u2019t wait to see him back,\u201d one person wrote on Instagram. \u201cThe legend returns\u00a0\"\ud83d\udd25\",\u201d another declared. \u201cOh goodness me, I want to cry! Can\u2019t believe we get to see Gibbs again\u00a0\"\u2764\ufe0f\"\"\u2764\ufe0f\",\u201d a different follower added.<\/p>\n

Now, this was the TV news we didn\u2019t know we needed! And as far as Mark feels about coming back to\u00a0NCIS<\/em> in this manner, he seemed elated to be stepping into Gibbs\u2019 shoes once again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very proud of the storytelling that David and Gina are doing on\u00a0Origins<\/em>,\u201d he stated in the official press release from CBS, per\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cThey continue to push boundaries and dive deeper into the characters\u2019 backstories.
