Australian actress Rachael Carpani has died at the age of 45.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Dec. 15, her sister Georgia shared a statement from their parents on Instagram, announcing that she had passed away following a chronic illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,\u201d the\u00a0statement read.<\/p>\n

The post added, \u201cThe funeral will be a private event, to be held on Friday 19th December with close family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will be making no further statements,\u201d the caption concluded.<\/p>\n

While Rachael was best known for playing Jodi Fountain in the Australian series\u00a0McLeod\u2019s Daughters\u00a0<\/em>from 2001 and 2009, she also appeared in several U.S. shows and films, according to\u00a0imdb.<\/p>\n

She featured in\u00a0N.C.I.S: Los Angeles<\/em>,\u00a0The Rachels<\/em>,\u00a0If There Be Thorns,<\/em>\u00a0The Glades\u00a0<\/em>and played the lead role in Lifetime\u2019s\u00a0Against the Wall<\/em>.<\/p>\n

She also starred in the 2009 movie\u00a0Triangle\u00a0<\/em>alongside\u00a0Liam Hemsworth.<\/p>\n

Back in August, Rachael\u2019s sister penned a sweet tribute to her on her birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether she\u2019s done up and going out or staying in and working, she\u2019s the most beautiful woman I know,\u201d Georgia wrote. \u201cHappiest of birthdays to my gorgeous sister\u00a0@rachcarpani. You bring so much light and joy and we love you so much!\u00a0\u2665\ufe0f\"\ud83c\udf82\"\"\ud83e\udd73\"\"\ud83e\udd42\".\u201d<\/p>\n

The post included a photo of Rachel smiling while holding a drink and another snap of her working behind a laptop.<\/p>\n

Many fans also left comments under a\u00a0pinned photo\u00a0of Georgia and Rachael from September 2024.<\/p>\n
