Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are back as Tony and Ziva in the latest NCIS spinoff, premiering on Paramount+ on Thursday, September 4, with the first three episodes. And so when we spoke with them at San Diego Comic-Con in TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine\u2019s studio, we had to ask them their favorite episodes ahead of NCIS: Tony & Ziva.<\/p>\n

De Pablo\u2019s first is a very memorable one for the two, early in their partnership (she joined the cast that season): \u201cUnder Covers\u201d (Season 3 Episode 8). \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of romance,\u201d she said, but Weatherly disagreed, \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s any romance in that.\u201d (The episode saw them undercover as a couple.) The next pick is one that was only a few after that, \u201cBoxed In,\u201d and he shared a behind-the-scenes tidbit about his costar, revealing she\u2019d forgotten her ear protection.<\/p>\n

The Season 7 premiere, \u201cTruth or Consequences,\u201d in which the team ended up rescuing Ziva after she\u2019d been taken captive. Tony, in the process, was given truth serum, and because he couldn\u2019t lie, he admitted, \u201cCouldn\u2019t live without you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great thing that [writer] Jesse Stern did because it\u2019s just the greatest thing that he gave you that you can\u2019t lie,\u201d de Pablo said to Weatherly. \u201cHis entire body\u2019s trying to lie. What Michael does with it is so fabulous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Added Weatherly, \u201cHe\u2019s really trying hard not to say, \u2018I love you. I love you, I love you,\u2019 but he doesn\u2019t say it.\u201d<\/p>\n
