Given the wave of cancellations that shook fans towards the end of last season, some beloved staples like Blue Bloods, FBI: Most Wanted, and The Equalizer are, sadly, missing this time around (farewell, old friends). But as we say goodbye to long-running hits, CBS is hoping to win us over with a slate of new titles ready to fill the void. The bulk of these new offerings come in the form of spin-offs, stepping up to build upon the legacy of their predecessors. From dramas and procedurals to comedies, the fall schedule is packed, and we can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

CBS’s fall schedule officially kicks off on Sunday, October 12, with a special event night featuring the Kathy Bates-led legal drama Matlock and the star-studded comedy Elsbeth, offering audiences sneak peeks at the new seasons. Both series will then settle into their regular Thursday time slots later that week, airing at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively, when their new seasons officially premiere. Over on Monday, October 13, FBI, now the lone survivor of its once-sprawling franchise, returns for its eighth season at 9 p.m. While the network had initially teased that the Tom Ellis-led spin-off FBI: CIA would launch alongside the flagship this fall, the project has now been delayed to midseason following a creative overhaul.

XXX attends the CBS Studios FYC Event on the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles, May 6, 2025, as part of CBS FEST 2025.
