There\u2019s a turning point coming for the NCIS team \u2014 and Wilmer Valderrama is giving fans a hint at what the explosive season finale is gonna look like.<\/p>\n

The actor stopped by CBS Mornings on Thursday, May 1, and revealed that because the long-running series was \u201cpicked up for a 23rd season,\u201d they decided to do a two-part finale for season 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo the first part [aired] last Monday, big big questions,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then the next episode answers all the questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Gayle King asked if Valderrama, 45, would confirm whether \u201canybody dies\u201d in the upcoming episode, he went one step further with the teasing.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomebody does die,\u201d he revealed. \u201cSomebody dies \u2014 and it\u2019s not the murder of the week. It\u2019s somebody, unfortunately, very close to us, and it\u2019s going to be very earth-shattering and really heartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valderrama, who has played special agent Nick Torres since 2016, continued, \u201cIt\u2019s going to shake up the team and I think it\u2019s going to probably really push us to go rogue in season 23.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest idea was to say, \u2018How do we disrupt the peace of season 22 and set up the tone for season 23?\u2019 And this episode does that better than we\u2019ve done in many years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor told last summer that he feels \u201cindebted\u201d to NCIS fans given their loyalty to the series, which premiered in 2003, and that because of that, he wanted to give them the \u201cturmoil\u201d they\u2019re used to seeing in season 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe big conversation is, \u2018How can we light some s\u2014 on fire this season?\u2019 That\u2019s what I want to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s not going to be your casual like, \u2018Oh, your favorite team is in trouble.\u2019 It\u2019s going to be more personal, more soul-shattering. There\u2019ll be some [tragedy] this season.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also teased at the time that there could be \u201csome new flames\u201d for his character in season 22<\/p>\n

\u201cPerhaps Torres might be ready for love this season. Who knows? That might be a conversation or may not be a conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The season 22 finale of NCIS airs Monday, May 5 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.<\/p>\n
