Is third time\u2019s the charm for LL Cool J? After main roles on both NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai\u2019i, LL Cool J in the NCISverse as Senior Field Agent Sam Hanna. This time, he\u2019s paying a visit to the Washington D.C. team on NCIS.<\/p>\n

Will LL Cool J be a series regular on NCIS?<\/h3>\n

As of writing, Cool J is set to only be a guest star on NCIS Season 22, Episode 18, \u201cAfter the Storm,\u201d in which the NCIS team investigates the murder of three combat veterans who were found dead in their motel room. The NCIS tracks down the suspect who refuses to talk to anyone but Hanna.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like the character, he\u2019s beloved and it\u2019s so fun playing him. I don\u2019t see why I wouldn\u2019t come back,\u201d Cool J told People of why he wanted to return to the NCISverse.<\/p>\n

He went on to explain how \u201cAfter the Storm\u201d had all the elements of a classic NCIS episode. \u201cIt has all the same chemistry that people love plus more action, thrills, and suspense,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a big episode for the flagship show. You get a little extra dessert with dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cool J first announced his return to NCIS in an Instagram post with NCIS on March 20. \u201cGuess who\u2019s back,\u201d the Instagram post read before the screen revealed Cool J, who told fan, that he was \u201cback on set, baby!\u201d He added, \u201cNCIS. Let\u2019s get it.\u201d The post was captioned, \u201cLike no time has passed.\u201d Cool J starred as a series regular on NCIS: Los Angeles for all 14 seasons. He also appeared in a recurring role in the third and final season of NCIS: Hawai\u2019i.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s unclear whether Cool J could join NCIS full-time in the future, he did tell People ahead of his debut on NCIS: Hawai\u2019i that Hanna\u2019s \u201cstory definitely wasn\u2019t over,\u201d so it\u2019s possible that he could come back as the character on NCIS in a larger capacity in the future. \u201cThe story definitely wasn\u2019t over at all, that\u2019s for sure,\u201d he said at the time. . \u201cWe\u2019re finding out more about Sam, but remember, this is a different thing because Sam was transferred here.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to add that he wanted to reprise his role on NCIS: Hawai\u2019i because of the \u201cgood energy\u201d and \u201cgood vibes\u201d he\u2019s experienced in the NCIS franchise. \u201cIt just felt right to me,\u201d he said. \u201cIt felt like, \u2018You know what? Let\u2019s have some fun. Let\u2019s do this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
