New York\u2019s Metropolitan Museum to her room at the Carlyle Hotel, she sipped on champagne, dined with the world\u2019s top designers, and completely shocked event goers with her unroyal Her divorce from the now King Charles III was finalized in August of the same year.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lingerie-inspired dress<\/h2>\n<p>At her first ever Met Gala appearance, Diana wore a lingerie-inspired silk navy-blue slip dress with black lace and paired the ensemble with a matching silk robe. She accessorized the outfit with sparkling sapphire earrings and a choker necklace, that she designed from a sapphire brooch gifted to from the Queen Mother on her wedding day to Charles.<\/p>\n<p>But it wasn\u2019t the sapphire jewelry that was turning heads that evening.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kuluckada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/princes-dianaincar41342-1-664x350-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"664\" height=\"350\" \/><em>Shutterstock\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>According to Eloise Moran, author of \u201cThe Lady Di Look Book: What Diana Was Trying To Tell Us Through Her Clothes,\u201d Diana\u2019s ensemble was a \u201crevenge\u201d look.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was one of her most shocking dresses. But I thought she looked fabulous. She just looks so happy and confident,\u201d Moran told Yahoo. \u201cI think she was embracing it and enjoying it. She knew she could never get rid of the attention and the spotlight on her, but I think she was positioning it in a different way, as a kind of international megastar, Marilyn Monroe-type icon rather than a member of the royal family. Couture,\u201d said fashion critic, Brenda Polan. \u201cThe problem, and there is no delicate way of saying this, is that it looked like she had accidentally stepped out in her nightie, which meant, of course, that she wasn\u2019t wearing a bra.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-the-first-revenge-dress\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The first revenge dress<\/h2>\n<p>Still, Diana seamlessly pulled off the daring look, much like she did in 1994 when Charles \u201caired out some serious dirty laundry\u201d and confirmed that he was having an affair with now his wife, Camilla, the queen to his king.<\/p>\n<p>But the late princess didn\u2019t miss a beat.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6416\" src=\"https:\/\/kuluckada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Screenshot_1-31.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>On June 29, 1994 \u2013 the same day her then-husband had made his confession \u2013 the woman attended an event at London\u2019s Serpentine Gallery in a jaw-dropping \u201crevenge dress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Turning heads at the gala, Diana looked perfect in a fitted, black, off-the-shoulder dress with an asymmetrical hemline and chiffon train that flowed in the wind.<\/p>\n<p>She didn\u2019t have to say anything with words.
