After more than a six-month hiatus, Daniela Ruah is making a triumphant return to the NCIS universe, not as Kensi Blye from NCIS: Los Angeles but in a new role – as a director. The actress, who concluded her 14-season stint on NCIS: LA after the show’s cancellation in May, shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse on Instagram, celebrating her directorial debut for an episode in NCIS Season 21.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Daniela Ruah expressed her excitement about directing an episode for both NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i. She had previously teased this move at the beginning of the month, stating, “Here we go again! So excited to be directing an episode of #NCIS and #NCISHawaii this year! Stay tuned…”

Following her directorial debut, Daniela shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos featuring fellow cast members Wilmer Valderrama, Brian Dietzen, Sean Murray, and Gary Cole, among others. In the caption, she reflected on her journey, mentioning that Special Agent Kensi Blye was first introduced on the original NCIS, affectionately called “The Mothership.” She wrapped up her first directed episode in NCIS Season 21 and expressed how it felt like home, praising the spectacular cast and crew.

Fans flooded the comments section with excitement, expressing their anticipation for the episodes she directed and sharing their support for her new venture. Daniela’s NCIS episode is scheduled to air in March, followed by her NCIS: Hawai’i episode in April.

In an earlier statement to Deadline, Daniela Ruah shared her joy at returning to the NCIS set as a director, describing it as an absolute honor. She highlighted the warm welcome from familiar faces and the feeling of coming home to the set where Kensi was born as a character 15 years ago.

Stay tuned for the upcoming episodes directed by Daniela Ruah and witness her contribution to the ever-expanding NCIS universe.
